Moritaka Mashiro
and Akito Takagi have come a long way since they started making manga in
middle school, but trials still await them as they head towards their
goal of getting an anime adaptation for one of their manga. As they
continue to grow as artists and as people, they will be faced with new
friends, new rivals, and new hurdles to overcome.
Mashiro
and Takagi start working with a new editor, Gorou Miura, as Hattori is
assigned to another author. They must adapt quickly to his approach as
well as drawing together with assistants since they must perform well on
the Shonen Jack polls in order to not be discarded by the publication.
Now that their work is being serialized, they must work even harder as
they must satisfy an extremely demanding audience while competing with
other talented authors.

Youhei's parents find a new place to live, one that allows pets. As the family prepares to move into their new apartment, will Chii be able to adapt to her new surroundings?
A grey and white kitten with black stripes wanders away from her mother and siblings one day while enjoying a walk outside. Lost in her surroundings, the kitten struggles to find her family and instead is found by a young boy, Youhei, and his mother. They take the kitten home, but pets are not allowed in their housing complex, so they try to find a new home for the kitten. This proves to be difficult, and the family eventually decides to keep the kitten, naming her "Chi."
